A global, fully remote hackathon focused on good vibes and good practices.
Starts March 1st, 12 pm PST
85 people · 5 teams · 72 solo · 25 countries · 65 projects
Timelines are filling up with people who have things to sell you.
The builders with insights to share? Lost in the noise.
We want to see that change, so we're going to do something about it.
Let's put builders back in the spotlight.

A one week hackathon, by builders for builders.
We won't make you use a certain tool: use whatever you like.
Oh, and there's nothing to sell you.
We're all here to build and learn.
7 days, solo or team
Peer-to-peer voting + panel favorites
By category, by country, by region, overall
None! Recognition is the reward.
A few ground rules to keep things fair and fun.
No fine print. No gotchas.
Just build something real.
Ship something
Submit a working project by the end of the week. It doesn't have to be perfect.
Start or continue
New project or existing — both welcome. Just make meaningful progress this week.
Use any tools
Any language, framework, or platform. We're not here to limit what you build with.
AI is encouraged
Use AI tools freely — coding assistants, image generators, whatever helps you build.
Be honest
Represent your work truthfully. Credit collaborators. Don't claim others' work as your own.
Be kind
Constructive feedback only. Respect everyone's experience level. We're all here to learn.
Seven days. Set your own pace.
Not everyone can clear their calendar for a week. That's fine. Tell us how you're planning to show up.
All-in
Full days, full week. Clearing the decks.
Daily
A few focused hours each day.
Nights & Weekends
Building around a day job.
Unsure
You'll figure it out as you go. That's fine, too.
Build from wherever you are. The community lives on Discord, builds are tracked through the Buildstory CLI, and streaming happens on Twitch and/or X with a guide on doitlive.club.
You're competing globally but recognised locally — projects are grouped by country and region so standout work gets seen no matter where you are.
Discord
Find teammates, share progress, get help, hang out.
Buildstory CLI
Auto-log your progress from your terminal as you build.
npm i -g buildstory
Whether you're writing your first line of code with an AI assistant or you've shipped ten products this year. Solo or team — bring your own or find collaborators through the hackathon.
This hackathon is open-source and community-powered. Here's how to get involved.
No. Show up with an idea, find one during the week, or join someone else’s. The only rule: ship something.
A working thing. A deployed app, a CLI tool, a bot, an API — if someone else can use it or see it run, it counts.
Yes. Solo or with teammates. You can bring your own or find collaborators through the hackathon.
Perfect. This is designed for you too. The community and streams will help you get unstuck. Ship something small — that’s the whole point.
No, but we encourage it. Even streaming a portion of your build helps others learn and makes the whole thing more fun.
Recognition, not prizes. Standout projects get featured by the panel across five categories: Creativity, Business Case, Technical Challenge, Impact, and Design. Plus peer-to-peer voting for community favourites.
As much as you can give. Go all-in for the full week, commit a few hours a day, or build on nights and weekends. Any level of participation counts.
Absolutely. Use whatever AI tools you want — Cursor, Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, v0, Bolt, all of it. This isn’t about purity, it’s about shipping. Just be honest about your stack.
One week, no gatekeeping, no prerequisites. Just you, your ideas, and a community that actually wants to see you ship.
